Should I take a 2400 dpi instead of 600?

Home business cards printing. Startting up a home based business.

I currently do freelance graphic design but i’m tired of outsourcing for printing. What is a good PROFESSIONAL grade printer that i can purchase and use. ( I already know its in the thousands so please dont be shy. Tell me whats the best in the market or the easiest to use or the cheapest) Thank you in advance for the help because i’m having a hard time telling the difference in quality printers.

Im starting a business that requires me to have literally thousands of mini business cards weekly. I figured since I require so many it would be more cost effective for me to print them myself instead of ordering them. One side of the card will have a photographic quality image of a place on it, while the other will have my contact information. I am not looking to spend ungodly amount of money, however. So basically my question is, what printer will be adaquate to print photo quality images on cardstock?

Does anyone here have experience with printing professional business cards, and knowledge over what a good printer would be to purchase and start with? I make designs for business cards, and was wondering what the costs would be to use my own printer instead of outsourcing.

I’m confused on how to print business cards. Do you need a special printer or can you just print them in a normal printer at home?
