How many US commercial airline crashes remain unsolved as of this date?
I read in an Air and Space magazine in 1996 or 1997 can’t remember now that there are 4 unsolved Commercial Airline crashes at time of magazines printing here in the United States. The ones I remember that the article said were unsolved were Pennsylvania 1994 and Colorado Springs 1993 but don’t remember the other 2.
And does anyone know how many World Wide remain unsolved and were I can find the information on both figures.
There are probably a number of accidents that the NTSB has not issued a probable cause. All accidents and incidents since 1-1-1962 can be found on the NTSB website If you use the database query, you can personally count the ones for which no probable cause has been issued.

That’s a hard one. Good luck.
"Unsolved" and "solved" are the wrong words. Accident investigations only list probable causes; they don’t say solved.
At any rate here is a database of all significant accidents worldwide over the last 70 years or so. There is no place I know of that gives the number of accidents where a probable cause was not determined.
There are never any "unsolved". When they can’t figure any thing else out, it’s "pilot error".
